HD DVD and Blu-ray duking it out on amazon Amazon has been Playing HD DVD and Blu-ray off like Pepsi and Coca-cola... Recently, amazon offered a Buy one get one free Blu-ray sale expanding to 116 titles avaialable and put a lesser sale of 40 percent off of six select HD DVD movies for a limited time... meanwhile, today Amazon decided to switch the sale up, offering the same six movies from the HD DVD sale in the Blu-ray format at a 40 percent discount while offering a big HD DVD sale at buy one get one free. This is certainly the holiday season to be buying High definition movies for either format or both... the only downside to this offer is that the deals are so hard to pass up, you might be spending more on these movies than you thought of for the week. Originally, I wanted to buy the Die hard collection on Blu-ray and the Bourne Ultimatum on HD DVD... then i saw the sale. I snagged up 4 Blu-ray discs yesterday and I found 10 HD DVD discs today that i wanted... adding $140 dollars to my original planned purchases for the week. This is a great sale that can't be passed up and will certainly cause impulse buying.
