Dish network information
Dish network is a great provider of HDTV services. They boast more HD channels than anyone else. Dish Network currently carries 32 national HDTV channels plus a whole bunch of local HDTV channels as well as regional sports networks. They also offer pay per view in HD. Dish network recently changed to an MPEG-4 video delivery system and has current plans to expand it's HD programing. There is currently an HDTV programming race between dish network and it's rival Directv. They offer a free DVR when you sign up, eliminating the need for a VCR anymore. Currently, subscribing to satellite TV services like dish limit the local HD programing and local plus programing available, which can be overtaken buy using an HDTV antenna.
