A whole bunch of Blu-ray players announced from sony, Panasonic, Sharp, and Philips.

At CES, many of the Blu-ray supporting manufacturers announced new Blu-ray players coming soon this year, including one that retails for under $300. First off is Sony, which is announced to feature BD live support (Blu-ray's answer to HD DVD's web enabled features). Another player to be released is a new BD player from Philips, costing $349 and promoting high definition audio support as well as being BD 1.1 compliant. Also on the table are new players from Pioneer, Panasonic, and Sharp, all sporting the new 1.1 specs. Another great announcement is that Funai inc, under the brand name Sylvania, has announced a sub $300 Blu-ray player that is 1.1 compliant, making the addition of Blu-ray for HD DVD supporters a little bit easier, in response to the Warner dropping HD DVD announcement.
